The evening's performance will feature the extremely significant musical contributions made by Blues Women from past to present. There’s no better artist in our area to educate and entertain you, taking you on a journey via a carefully chosen song list that represents these pioneers of the genre, then Blues Chanteuse, Peggy Ratusz.

With the help of some of the most accomplished instrumentalists in the area, you’ll hear selections from Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith, Memphis Minnie, Merline Johnson, Big Maybelle, Big Mama Thornton, Etta James, Sugar Pie DeSanto, Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt, , Susan Tededschi and Ruthie Foster with some inspired originals thrown in!

Two of Peggy's vocal students, Evalina Everidge and Peggy Swain will also perform.

Peggy is one of the most talented and versatile vocalist in Western North Carolina. She is also a gifted vocal teacher and supporter of other musicians. Her backing bands are particularly impressive during live performances where audiences witness her very core as it shines and is inspired by the rhythm, the melodies and content of the stories she tells. Every drop of emotion is authentic and shows all who are present, that she’s a willing servant to Jazz, Swing, Blues and Soul music.

White Horse is thrilled to have Peggy back on the White Horse stage for this special evening of entertainment.
