West African Musician

Chikomo Marimba is a group that plays contemporary and traditional Zimbabwean music, and is open to expanding into other musical styles. Our mission is to share and celebrate the joy of the music we play among ourselves and with others. The interweaving parts/expressions that come together through our music create synergy and celebrate the idea that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Arouna Diarra is a musician from Burkina Faso, West Africa playing traditional music from his country and culture. He was raised learning and playing the music as his family is Griots, meaning the music is passed from family members through the generations. Arouna sings in Bambara a West African language, he also plays balafone and ngoni, both native instruments from Burkina Faso.
