AmiciMusic Presents: THE DEMASI BROTHERS Sun May 24th 2015 7:30pm

Tickets:   $7

Joseph and John, the DeMasi Brothers, trace their performing careers back to the folk clubs and coffeehouses of New York, their home town. As part of the ’80s folk revival they played regularly in Greenwich village, were featured performers on the “Fast Folk” music series and NPR, and have shared the stage with folk legends like Harry and Tom Chapin, Christine Lavin and Oscar Brand.

They bring their upbeat acoustic music to the White Horse Black Mountain on Sunday, May 24 at 7:30 p.m. The White Horse presents this show in cooperation withAmiciMusic.

In 1992 the DeMasis 1992 formed a trio with their lifelong friend Chris Burke, an award winning actor with Down syndrome best known for his role as “Corky” on the TV series “Life goes On”. They recorded four CDs for kids and families, and their “Forever Friends” CD received a Parents Choice Gold Seal for Excellence Award. The brothers now tour regularly throughout the U.S., and have appeared on many TV shows, including “Good Morning America” and “Entertainment Tonight”. Says Joseph, “We strongly believe in equal rights for all, economic justice and saving the environment, and we believe you should have a fun time doing it! That’s why we inject so much humor into our shows”. “Music has been great to us”, they both agree. “We get to do what we love and promote what we believe in. AND we both met our wives at gigs” says John. “How great is that?”
