Starting off 2017 with a bang, we bring to you an incredible dynamic duo featuring 5-time Grammy Award winner Roy "FutureMan" Wooten and master kalimba player Kevin Spears. You may remember Kevin from his awesome performances here including our recent Whitehorse Birthday Jam which he mesmerized everyone with his musical skill and expression on the traditional African instrument called kalimba.

Joining Kevin for the first time on the Whitehorse stage will be none other than Grammy winning legendary drummer, percussionist, composer and inventor Roy Wooten "FutureMan". For more than 20 years FutureMan has traveled the globe as an iconic and integral member of Bela Fleck and The Flecktones. Residing in Nashville Tenn, Roy comes from an accomplished family of musical brothers including one of the most gifted bassists of all time Victor Wooten. Roy invented a most unusual instrument called a Drumitar which is shaped and held like a guitar but is a full-fledged drum machine and synthesizer.

Kevin Spears in addition to being a vocalist and percussionist is hailed by many as one of the most influential kalimba players alive today and is best described as a one-man music ensemble. Kevin has performed and given lectures nationally and internationally including Ted-X, Percussion Arts Society, NAMM Show and recently was honored with a contract to create a groundbreaking Kelectrifies kalimba named in his honor that will be distributed in over 30 countries around the world.

On January 28th at 8pm these two musical visionaries will come together to musically transport you into a futuristic world of folk, dance, rock and world music using other-worldly instruments that will leave you spellbound and uplifted.
